Christian Pulisic is a £58m January transfer signing that didn’t join the club until the summer, and a lot has been said about the American since he made the switch to the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has not started a game for Chelsea in a month, and his last start was against League Two side Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
However, the tide is beginning to turn in Pulisic’s favour as he has been the game changer for Chelsea in the past two games, and was the star of the show after coming on to help the Blues get a win against Ajax on Wednesday.
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has now urged Pulisic to take encouragement from the likes of Liverpool stars Robertson and Fabinho who were made to wait for their chances at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp and have now become key players in the team.
He said: “You think of Robertson and Fabinho at Liverpool… they watched a long time from the sidelines. He’ll be hoping for the same here.
“It was a nice stepover and somehow the ball ends up in the middle of the goal. Batshuayi does his best to try and chip it over the bar but great stepover from Pulisic which wrong foots the defender.
“They spent a lot of money. Before you spend that kind of money someone must have had a close look at him, seen it, fancied him and gone big.
“He’s been there a while, you’ve not seen too much of him and they will be hoping, like Robertson and Fabinho at Liverpool, this is how you’ve got to play in our system.”
