Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on raiding Chelsea to bolster the left-hand side of his defence.
Sarri, who left Chelsea for Juventus after just one season in charge, wants to sign Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri, according to The Sun.
Under Sarri, Emerson Palmieri usurped Marcos Alonso as the club’s first choice left-back towards the end of last season.
The Brazilian has made a flying start to the season under Frank Lampard before picking up a hamstring injury which has left him sidelined in recent weeks.
Sarri is reportedly desperate to bolster his squad with the signing of Emerson, with Alex Sandro his only current option at left-back.
Chelsea are unlikely to let Emerson leave for Juventus with the left-back now the club’s first choice at the left-back position.
The Blues are preparing to offer Emerson a new deal that reflects his status as the club’s first choice left-back and Juventus’ interest in the left-back could accelerate Chelsea’s negotiations with Emerson over a new contract.
