Christian Pulisic only just turned 21 last month after sealing a £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in January, but joined Chelsea during the summer.
The American international has already achieved a lot at his young age that it’s so easy to forget that he’s 21 and at the first stage of his career.
Having initially struggled to make impact at Chelsea following his big money move from Germany, Captain America as he’s fondly called is now beginning to show the kind of player he can be as he bagged a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Burnley.
Before the hat-trick, Pulisic has had match changing substitute appearances in the games against Newcastle and Ajax, forcing Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to return him to the starting lineup for the Burnley game, and he impressed massively.
Pulisic has definitely won the hearts of the Chelsea supporters and reminds us of a certain Eden Hazard who joined as a 21-year-old with potential but is now rated among the best players in the world after seven years at Chelsea.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes Pulisic will go on to be a top player when he reaches the peak of his career at age 27, 28.
“I like Pulisic, who scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 win against Burnley, and I’ve always been a big fan of his,” the 51-year-old told the Sky Sports.
“I think he’s a top player, but he’s only a kid. He’s 21 and you’re not going to hit your best football until you’re 27 or 28, I wouldn’t have thought.”
