Frank Lampard’s side have won their last three games in all competitions, and the Blues are beginning to pick some momentum at the right time.

Chelsea travel to St Mary’s this weekend to face Southampton, and BetVictor ambassador Michael Owen is backing the Blues to grab another victory.

Owen has hailed the young Chelsea side of going from strength to strength and believes that Chelsea will get an away win while also predicting that both teams will score.

Owen said ahead of the game: “Southampton will feel they missed a decent opportunity at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend given the hosts played the majority of the game with 10-men.

“The Saints have struggled for points at St Mary’s so far this season and I think Chelsea will edge what promises to be a terrific game. Frank Lampard’s side scored five at Wolves in their last league game on the road and I expect his young side to continue to go from strength-to-strength this season.”

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists Chelsea must match the intensity of Southampton if we want to get a result at St Mary’s.

“We’re expecting a tough match, a very good manager with a well-organised team,” Lampard said.

“They play in different formations so it’s hard to predict how they might come at you but they do come at you with a lot of pace in the way they want to work off the ball and they have quality players.

“It’s always a very difficult place to go so you have to be at it because there’s a lot of energy in their team and the crowd can get behind them if they play with the kind of intensity that they have been showing.

“We need to match that at least because we want to keep our momentum going.”
