Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud have struggled to get much playing time under Frank Lampard.
Tammy Abraham’s impressive goalscoring form have led to Giroud getting sidelined while Willian’s impressive form has left Pulisic out of the starting XI.
Giroud and Pulisic sent a clear message to Chelsea boss Frank Lampard by scoring for their nations during the international break.
Giroud scored the winner in France’s 1-0 victory against Iceland away in the World Cup winners’ Euro 2020 qualifier while Pulisic scored as USA thrashed Cuba 7-0.
Pulisic recently admitted he’s unhappy with his lack of playing time but admits the competition at Chelsea will make him a better player.
Pulisic said: “Of course, you want to play, be on the field and be in the team as much as you can, and it hurts not to be there, but I’m happy I got my opportunity.
“Competition in the team can only make me better and I think that’s what makes teams, it’s guys who are maybe not the second or third man, but they are pushing each other in training every single day.”
