There was a number of high profile moves during the summer transfer window, as Eden Hazard moved to Real Madrid, Antoine Griezmann moved to Barcelona and a host of other top transfers made the round.

With Christian Pulisic starting to find his feet at Chelsea having initially struggled following his big money move from Borussia Dortmund, US team coach Gregg Berhalter believes that the American will still excel at Chelsea.

Berhalter has likened Pulisic’s transfer to some big names that haven’t performed for their clubs after they moved.

“And let’s not forget that he’s not the only player in the world who has had a challenge adapting at the beginning of a move. Look at Griezmann in Barcelona, Hazard in Real Madrid,” he told the Daily Mirror.

“These are top, top players. Salah and De Bruyne at Chelsea, of course. The list goes on and on. Because he was the only transfer this year, a lot of attention is placed on him.”

Speaking after the game against Ajax where Pulisic starred, Lampard admitted that he was impressed with his performance and gave him the credit for a job well done.

“The performance tonight and his last couple of performances off the bench show something of that of course, because he’s come on and made differences,” said Lampard.

“In terms of handling him, I basically tried to shut my ears to too much of the outside talk. With a big player, there’s a lot said and if you listen to it all the time, you can wonder what you’re doing.

“I understood the quality of Christian. I understood his young age. He’s just turned 21 recently and it’s a big move for him. And I have other options for him in those areas. Let’s give him full credit. ‘He wants to know what I want for him, what the PL is like, what his new team-mates are like, that’s not always going to be an easy road.”
