Chelsea January signing Christian Pulisic has failed to hit the ground running at Chelsea after joining the Blues in the summer.
Pulisic had impressed at German side Borussia Dortmund having joined the club as a 16-year-old. After three impressive seasons at BVB, Pulisic went to a bigger challenge in the Premier League, and the 21-year-old is yet to adapt to the English game.
Pulisic made 127 senior appearances at Dortmund and scored 19 goals and made 26 assists. The US international has looked back at his time in Germany and revealed that he had the trust of the manager.
Pulisic tells The Players’ Tribune: “If you can play, you can play and that’s why Dortmund was amazing for me, the coach always trusted me.
“But you’ve got to prove yourself maybe that extra mile. I have to prove myself no matter what age I am.”
Pulisic has vowed to prove himself at Chelsea and insists he doesn’t see himself as a youngster.
He added: “I don’t feel like I’m some wonder boy anymore, I’ve been around and I think I’ve earned that respect at least and I’m in a new chapter and I’m going to prove myself.”
