Christian Pulisic scored a hat-trick in his first Premier League start since August to help Chelsea beat Burnley 4-2 on Saturday.

It was a first career hat-trick for the 21-year-old American who was only struggling for game time not long ago.

After his hat-trick against Burnley, Pulisic took to social media to reveal just how much he can’t believe what’s happening to him.

He posted on twitter: “Still got no words for yesterday. Thankful for my teammates and the fans! Such a special day 🔵⚪️ @ChelseaFC”

Former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Christian Pulisic proved his point after his impressive performance against Burnley.

“He has done [played himself into the team],” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.

“It’s the enthusiasm, desire to win the ball back and this is something he’s realised, he’s almost played like ‘I need to show something today’.

“He finds himself in an unusual position for a player that’s playing wide on the left but look what he does here, he goes and chases the ball, he forces [Matt] Lowton into the mistake, then he’s one on one with [James] Tarkowski.

“He does a stepover, it’s an unconventional one because normally you take it with your left foot once you’ve stepped over with your right.

“He keeps it alive and it’s a really good finish, he’s actually really strong and keeps it alive with a good finish.

“What a night for him so far.”
