At the start of the season, no pundit tipped Chelsea as a side capable of making top four.
The appointment of a rookie manager in Frank Lampard, the loss of star player Eden Hazard and the transfer ban placed on the club meant it was going to be a difficult season for Chelsea, and for many, the Blues will finish out of the top four.
However, the Blues are beginning to click at the right time, and Chelsea have moved up from the second half of the table to fifth place, and just two points behind Manchester City in second.
It’s Manchester United and Tottenham who are even struggling, and they’re two teams tipped to finish ahead of the Blues this season.
Football pundit and former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol is backing Chelsea and Arsenal to end the season in top four.
“I’ve got a sneaky [feeling] that Chelsea might get in the top four,” Nicol told ESPN FC.
“I’m surprised Arsenal’s third right now, really.
“I think it’s very difficult to say with any certainty who the top four’s going to be.
“We know who the top two are, but third and fourth. I think it’s very difficult.
“I’m going to stick my neck out right now and say Chelsea are going to get in the top four.
“And if it continues to go the way it is in the Premier League it will be Arsenal.”
