Burnley are in buoyant mood ahead of this weekend’s clash at the Turf Moor as the Blues come visiting on Saturday.
Burnley are 8th in the league and have a knack for taking points against the Big Six as they did last season. Sean Dyche has made the Turf Moor a difficult ground to go to, and their only defeat this season at home has come in the hands of Liverpool – a 3-0 bashing.
Dyche has admitted Chelsea’s good form and believes that his side must be at the top of their game to beat the Blues this weekend.
“Chelsea are on a good run. We can’t over-think that,” said the Burnley boss.
“We’ve been down this road long enough where we’ve played teams that are on good runs and played teams who are high-level performers.
“We have taken those challenges on numerous occasions and we have to do that again. We know that.
“They are definitely a good side and we’ve got to play at the top of our levels to beat good sides.”
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has predicted a 2-1 victory for Burnley over Chelsea this Saturday at the Turf Moor.
Nicholas is predicting a victory for Burnley because he doesn’t believe Chelsea centre-backs have a partnership to cope with Burnley strikers Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood.
“Chelsea have been more consistent than I thought what with the shift of Frank Lampard coming in and everything that came with it,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“In essence, it was clear-cut with the transfer situation. If Tammy Abraham scores he stays in the team and for me, Mason Mount is good enough to stay in the side. Callum Hudson-Odoi has signed a new contract and so will feature, Willian is back in good form and Jorginho has been great. Fikayo Tomori is also playing well, but I am not sure whether the Chelsea centre-backs have a partnership to cope with Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood when they get the service that they do.”
