26 year old centre-back Antonio Rudiger has finally shaken off the freak groin problem he suffered at Wolves last month after slipping on a metal plate placed next to the touchline, according to The Sun.
The victory over Wolves was Rudiger’s first and only game of the season but the Germany international lasted just 45 minutes before he was replaced by Kurt Zouma.
Rudiger’s injury comeback has also come in the nick of time as Andreas Christensen picked up a groin injury during Denmark’s 1-0 win at home to Switzerland on Saturday.
The Sun claims it is unlikely Rudiger will be ready to start against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
Welcome back Rudiger.
