Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has had a lot of injury problems this season and the Germany International has only featured once for the Blues this term.

Rudiger missed the beginning of the campaign with a knee injury that he suffered at the end of last season.

After recovering from the knee injury, the Germany international made his return during the 5-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, but then suffered another set-back with a groin injury.

Rudiger lasted only the first half in the game against Wolves having suffered a groin injury.

Rudiger might be back soon, after posting an update on his injury.

The 26-year-old centre-back has been outside at Cobham and training back on the pitch during the international break as he steps up his recovery.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted last month that he didn’t know when Antonio Rudiger will be fit to play again for Chelsea.

Lampard said: “Toni has got a recurring injury in the groin, so it’s not the knee. We are trying to find a solution because he still does have some pain. We are hopeful that it won’t be long, but we don’t have an end date for you.”
