Christian Pulisic signed up for Chelsea in a £58m deal, and the American superstar was expected to do exploits at Stamford Bridge, especially with the departure of Eden Hazard.
Pulisic has however struggled to find his best form at Chelsea and has lost his place in the Chelsea team.
Pulisic has only lasted 90 minutes on the pitch twice this season and has failed to start a league game since the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.
With Callum Hudson-Odoi returning to fitness, it’ll present another obstacle to the American as he’s already behind Willian and Pedro, and Mason Mount has even played on the flanks ahead of him.
There had even been rumours that Pulisic could be sent out on loan in the January transfer window, but Blues boss Frank Lampard has squashed such rumours, insisting that he will remain at Chelsea and fight for a spot.
Lampard was asked about a possible loan deal for Pulisic and replied simply: “No.”
“With Christian, he’s come to us in a big move, let’s make no mistake about it, and then he’s just turned 21 recently, and we’ve got a competitive squad here,” he added.
“I said it before the last game, I always have a problem with who to pick. People make my decisions in training or how they’re playing, and at the minute with winning four on the bounce I need the edge of staying in the team and keep performing and everyone is the same.”
