Chelsea were hit with a transfer ban for two transfer windows, and many believed that Frank Lampard will struggle in his first season as Chelsea manager as he wouldn’t be able to make any signings.
However, the Chelsea legend turned manager defied the odds and gave opportunities to the club’s youngsters to shine, and they have been very impressive.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also given playing opportunities to the club’s youngsters, and Mason Greenwood has been a revelation for them. Despite that, the quality of Chelsea youngsters and their success in the senior team under Frank Lampard can’t be compared to Solskjaer’s.
Solskjaer has now revealed that Lampard’s youngsters are performing better because they go out on loan.
“Chelsea are a very exciting team,” he said.
“Frank has got players that have been on loan for one or two seasons in the Championship. The difference between my youngsters is that they are almost stepping right now onto the scene.
“Axel Tuanzebe has missed the last couple of games, but he has been out on loan (at Aston Villa last season) and you can see the benefit.
“I think Chelsea’s young players benefit from that now. They are a mature young team.”
