Chelsea beat Lille 2-1 on Wednesday night to get our Champions League campaign up and running.
Tammy Abraham and Willian scored for the Blues with Fikayo Tomori providing the assist for Abraham’s goal and Callum Hudson-Odoi providing the assist for Willian’s goal.
According to Opta, Tammy Abraham’s goal (assisted by Fikayo Tomori) was Chelsea’s first in the Champions League scored and assisted by two English players since March 2012, when Frank Lampard set up John Terry against Napoli.
Speaking about Abraham’s performance against Lille, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said: “Tammy’s performance was more of the same of what we have been seeing.
“He’s hungry for goals, he’s physical, he gives everything for the team, he has quality with ball at his feet.
“It’s his first Champions League goal and we’ll see many more, I hope, and many more performances like tonight.”
