Tammy Abraham scored his first Champions League goal in the 2-1 victory over Lille away at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Wednesday night.
In the 22nd minute of the game, Abraham did well to control a good pass from Fikayo Tomori, and he smashed the ball past the Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignana.
Abraham has now scored eight goals this season, and he has credited it to his teammates who are always creating chances for him.
“I am in a team that is creating a lot of chances and I knew I would get my chance and I think I took it well,” Tammy said after the game.
Chelsea started with a different system against Lille as Frank Lampard opted for a three at the back formation, with wing-backs.
Abraham revealed that the team has found it straightforward to play in a different shape than in recent games, and hails the quality in the team at the moment.
He went on: “We work on it in training. The manager always wants to mix it up and we have the players for it. We have fantastic players and we can play any system and that is what we need to do throughout the season.”
Chelsea are level on points with Valencia with three points and after we have played Southampton in the Premier League and Newcastle after the international break, we travel to Amsterdam on October 23.
