Mason Mount has played every Premier League game for Chelsea this season, showing his importance to the team.

It’s a shame some fans have questioned Frank Lampard’s decision to stick with the 20 year old midfielder as some believe Lampard is only playing Mount because he is a Chelsea academy graduate.

Mount has averaged 2.14 key passes in the league this season for the Blues. Only Pedro (3) has more key passes per game than Mount in the Premier League for Chelsea this season but he has just three appearances for the Blues compared to Mount who has played seven games.

Mount has scored three goals for the Blues and only Tammy Abraham (7) has scored more than the midfielder.

Mount has won more tackles than any of our offensive players, winning an average of 2 tackles per game and it was his desire to win the ball that earned us a penalty against Brighton.

Mount gets dispossessed an average of 1.7 per game compared to Christian Pulisic who loses the ball on an average of 3 times per game.

The 20 year old is expected to start against Lille today in the Champions League and Lampard is definitely right to trust the young attacking midfielder.

With Mount, we have a player who is energetic and willing to press high, give key passes and score goals.
