Chelsea are in good form at the moment and the Blues have won four of their last five league matches and five in a row in all competitions.
After nine matches played in the league this season, the Blues are currently fourth and level on points with third place Leicester City, pending Arsenal’s Monday night fixture with Sheffield United.
Chelsea started the season in poor form after the 4-0 hammering received at Old Trafford and a couple of other results that went against the Blues, despite the fact that the team played well.
Not many predicted Chelsea to make a top four finish this season, but with a good run of form coupled with the fact that the Blues are just two points behind second placed Manchester City and eight points behind leaders Liverpool, indeed anything can still happen this season.
Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma believes that the Blues would have been high up the table if not for some unlucky results that went against us despite having played well.
Zouma said after the Newcastle win: “Since the beginning of the season we were playing very well but at the beginning we were not lucky and now the luck is coming for us, and we are also working very hard.
“The team is very talented and once we know each other, we play. We put 100 per cent in every time and we are very difficult to beat.”
