Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham went off with a hip injury in the 2-2 draw against Valencia on Wednesday.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard confirmed on Friday that Abraham is unavailable for selection against West Ham due to the injury he suffered on Wednesday.

Lampard also revealed he still doesn’t know how long Abraham will be sidelined.

“He won’t be involved tomorrow (against West Ham) and we’ll know more by the end of the weekend,” Lampard said.

Abraham is Chelsea’s leading goalscorer so far this season with 11 goals in 19 games.

Speaking after the 2-2 draw at the Mestalla, the 22 year old striker downplayed the significance of the injury.

“It’s much better. At the time I was fearful of the worst,” Abraham told BT Sport.

“I got in and was able to walk again, move about, so I’m thankful and hopefully it’s not too long.

“I hope so (bruising). I’ll have a scan or x-ray tomorrow to see what the news is but hopefully it is just bruising. It was a knee to my hip area, so hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”
