Chelsea came third last season as Maurizio Sarri took charge of the Blues for just one year, guiding the Blues to the Europa League title and third position finish in the league.
Ahead of the 2019/20 season, the Blues weren’t highly rated due to the transfer ban and the loss of star player Eden Hazard. The appointment of Frank Lampard as the Chelsea manager also made the Blues less rated by pundits due to his lack of managerial experience.
Football pundit and former Tottenham player Jermaine Jenas has now changed his mind regarding his top four predictions. Jenas had initially predicted that Tottenham and Arsenal are the two clubs to likely join Manchester City and Liverpool in the top four, but due to Chelsea’s form, Jenas now believes that the Blues will make it to top four.
“Originally I was Spurs and Arsenal [along with Liverpool and Man City],” Jenas said.
“But I think Arsenal’s season has been disastrous.
“Although they’re much higher in the table than Spurs, it’s just been more mayhem at that football club.
“And even the manager now seems to be under a lot of pressure, so I don’t think they’ll make it.
“I’ll replace them with Chelsea, because I think what Frank’s [Lampard] got going there is solid. The players are top drawer.”
