A photograph of Chelsea’s fine list under manager Lampard has been leaked, showing how strict Blues boss Frank Lampard is keeping things at Chelsea.

There is a list of fines, framed and hung on the wall inside the Chelsea training ground, and the fines include a whopping £20,000 penalty for players who are late for training.

There have been reactions from the media and fans to Lampard’s fines, but Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech backs the fines and insists that respect and discipline helps a player – and those around him – both on the pitch and off.

“Some people find it surprising but we have always had huge fines at Chelsea,” he told The Guardian.

“The commitment to work is really important. To respect the rules is something where you need no talent. You can have zero talent, but you can be on time.

“It is about commitment. This is not to scare people. It is just to remind them that if you can control your discipline the better it will be for everybody.”
