Jose Mourinho was hailed as the Special One during his time at Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese had struck a sweet love-relationship with the Chelsea fans and was adored at the club.
However, since going on to manage Tottenham, Mourinho’s love relationship with Chelsea have turned sour, and it might even get worse as he has now been appointed the manager of Chelsea’s bitter rivals Tottenham.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea fans are currently plotting a ‘Special One’ banner for Frank Lampard in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Tottenham boss.
Mourinho was appointed as Spurs boss on Wednesday, following Mauricio Pochettino’s sack on Tuesday night, and the Blues will travel to north London to face London rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 22.
Mourinho has now revealed that he is glad to join Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham and also hailed the club’s heritage.
“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,” Mourinho said following his appointment.
“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
