Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been compared to Real Madrid midfielder and Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric.
The Italian international delivered one of the passes of the season to set up Tammy Abraham’s opening goal against Watford on Saturday in a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road.
“He [Jorginho] has probably thought he would be surplus to requirements but it has been completely the opposite,” Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“He has been brilliant since he has come in because he stands up, makes challenges and intercepts the ball.
“Jorginho probably doesn’t get the credit because he doesn’t make the pass or the assist as often as some others do.
“But it was a bit like Luka Modric when he was in the Premier League. We all thought: ‘He doesn’t score many goals, he doesn’t get many assists…’
“But he makes the pass that makes the pass and I have been so impressed with him again this season.”
