Former Manchester City midfielder Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Chelsea’s display against Manchester City on Saturday.
According to Hargreaves, Chelsea should have scored more goals in the first half.
“I thought Chelsea in the first half were brilliant. They played so well, I thought Frank Lampard’s game-plan worked terrifically well,” Hargreaves said.
“De Bruyne was marked by Kovacic and Kante marked David Silva and that really frustrated Manchester City at the start of the game.
“They wanted to sit in and absorb pressure but then when they got the ball they really tried to play and they caused City a lot of problems.
“Pep Guardiola was on the side and he was not happy, he was up and down, he was arguing with Mikel Arteta about people in certain positions and Chelsea should have scored more in that first half. They were the better team.
“Second half, they just lost that impetus going forward but credit Frank Lampard.”
