Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been out of action for a month now due to injury. The 28-year-old has been battling injury since the end of last season and Chelsea have had to cope in his absence.
Kante has returned to training, and the Blues have a huge Champions League tie against Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, and Blues boss Frank Lampard has revealed that Kante is part of the squad for the game against Ajax.
“Kante is in the squad so he is fit and it looks nicely like the injury and the few niggles he was getting have cleared up and we have been able get some work into him,” Lampard told reporters at his media conference on Monday afternoon at Cobham.
“It was always stop-start before that. He is in the squad and available.
“N’Golo is huge for us,” added Lampard. “He is one of the best midfielders in the world and has been for a few seasons, so I won’t complain about the nice problem I have with him fit. I want competition, we are playing every three or four days at the moment and I am going to need all of the midfielders and in different positions as well.”
Meanwhile Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag was asked if he’s afraid of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, but he admitted that the whole Chelsea team is a threat.
He said: “I think Chelsea is a very good team. They are in good shape, one a roll but Kante can even more improve this team. We will see and of course there are a lot of good players in this squad. We have to perform for ourselves to compete with them and beat them.”
