According to La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira, the Blues have submitted a bid of £3m for highly rated Argentina U17 striker Matias Godoy.
Chelsea scouts reportedly monitored the striker during the ongoing U17 World Cup, a tournament in which Godoy scored 3 goals and provided an assist before Argentina’s elimination in the second round to Paraguay.
Godoy currently plays for Argentina second division side Atletico Rafaela and he recently claimed he was full of pride Chelsea are monitoring him.
Inter Milan have also been linked with the striker.
Godoy said: “The fact that Chelsea is following me is a little moving and I take it in the best way possible but must continue to work.
“I am full of pride. Me and my family have made a very big sacrifice to get here. Already being in the national team is a great pride for me.”
Chelsea are currently under a transfer ban which means the club will be unable to register players until the next summer.
However, Chelsea have filed an appeal and it will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 20.
