Chelsea are reportedly set to rival Manchester United for the signature of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to Daily Mail via The Sun.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport will listen to Chelsea’s appeal to the transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA on November 20.
If Chelsea’s appeal is successful, the Blues will reportedly make new signings in January.
Lyon striker Dembele, who is also a transfer target for Manchester United, is on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist.
It is believed Lyon are desperate to hold on to their top scorer until at least the end of the season.
Lyon will reportedly demand £71m for Dembele, who has scored eight goals in 11 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Chelsea expect Giroud to leave at the end of the season and he could well be joined out the door by Michy Batshuayi.
