Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham missed the game against West Ham due to injury. The 22-year-old suffered a hip injury in our Champions League game against Valencia on Wednesday night and had to be taken off at half-time.
Chelsea seem to be struggling without the academy product as Frank Lampard opted for Frenchman Olivier Giroud to start against the Hammers.
Giroud looked a shadow of himself and didn’t contribute much to the side before being taken off with 20 minutes left of play.
Football reporter Mark Worrall suggested at the end of the game that Chelsea were sorely missing Tammy Abraham.
Evening Standard’s Giuseppe Muro also conceded that Chelsea’s attack looked dead without Abraham.
He wrote: “Chelsea missed Tammy Abraham badly here.
“Abraham has been in fine goalscoring form this season and Chelsea lacked a real goal threat without him in the team. Lampard will hope Abraham’s injury does not keep him sidelined for long and will hope he can return against Aston Villa in midweek.”
