It wasn’t a good evening at the Bridge as Frank Lampard’s side suffered a fourth league defeat of the season.

Chelsea’s performance was drab and the Blues didn’t look capable of penetrating the Hammers especially in the second half.

Frank Lampard rotated his side as he gave playing opportunities to some players who haven’t really been in the side, and the fringe players didn’t look capable of staking a claim for a shirt.

In our player ratings for this game, Pedro got the least score with 3/10, while Olivier Giroud was given a 4/10.

Daily Star rated Giroud as Chelsea’s worst player and gave him a 2/10 while Pedro was given a 3/10.

Football.london chose to give Pedro and Giroud players 3/10 ratings.

Giroud had been clamouring for playing time, and it was his first appearance for the Blues in more than a month.

Giroud has managed just two starts in all competitions this season, but was preferred to Michy Batshuayi for this game despite the Belgian regularly featuring off the bench under Frank Lampard.

It was also a rare start for Pedro who hadn’t featured in well over a month but he didn’t take his opportunity well.

  1. Lampard should bench Pedro and Giroud. They are angry players and they have made up their minds to leave Chelsea in January. Giroud deliberately dodged a header to put Chelsea in front. Just let him go as soon as possible. Lamprd must know that Westham used the same patter Guadiola used. Crown the mid field and unleash attack and they were very defensive.
