Chelsea’s 12th Premier League game of the season is a home clash against fellow Londoners Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s lunch-time kick off.
Chelsea will be without long-term absentees Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Antonio Rudiger and the suspended Jorginho for Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace while Ross Barkley and Mason Mount are doubtful.
Jorginho was booked for time wasting in the 89th minute of the game against Watford, and it’s his fifth yellow card of the season, which made him automatically suspended for Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture on November 9th against Crystal palace.
Frank Lampard revealed in his press conference today that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be out until November, while also revealing that Antonio Rudiger will also be out for at least three weeks.
Lampard has ruled Ross Barkley out of the Crystal Palace clash despite the fact that the 26-year-old was called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying games. However, the Chelsea boss hinted that Mason Mount will most likely feature against the Eagles.
Speaking about losing Jorginho for this game, Lampard said: “He’s been on four for a while, it’s a blow, we know how influential he is for us at the minute but what do you do?”
Jorginho has started every Premier League game for Chelsea this season and the midfielder definitely needs a rest. Chelsea should cope with his absence against Crystal Palace with N’Golo Kante having returned from injury and is expected to feature against Palace.
