Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is without Ross Barkley and N’Golo Kante due to injury, and the Chelsea manager will now be without key midfielder Jorginho for Chelsea’s next Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Jorginho was booked for time wasting in the 89th minute of the game against Watford, and it’s his fifth yellow card of the season, which means he is now automatically suspended for Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture on November 9th against Crystal palace.
Chelsea had a free-kick late in the game, and the Chelsea vice-captain dallied on it for long and was eventually shown a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor. Jorginho will now have a clean slate when Chelsea travel to Manchester to face City at the Etihad Stadium on March 23.
Jorginho has played all 11 league games for Chelsea this season and will surely benefit from the rest next weekend.
Jorginho showed how much he has improved under Frank Lampard with a perfect pass for Tammy Abraham for Chelsea’s first goal.
Speaking about Jorginho after the game, Lampard added: “Some goals make you really happy.
“With Watford today we did feel their line is quite high and the timing is perfect.
“Listen, you can try that many times, you can overhit them, you can underhit them but I think the threat of playing behind should always be there and that was spot on.”
