The Sun claimed this week that former Chelsea captain John Terry stopped the club from signing Sergio Aguero while the Argentine striker was with Atletico Madrid.
Aguero moved to Manchester City in a £36million transfer in 2011 but the Blues had an interest in the striker before his move to Manchester City.
Terry has now responded to reports claiming he stopped the club from signing Aguero.
“Where do these get the stories from?” John Terry asked on his Instagram account. “If they bothered calling players agents it would solve an awful lot of nonsense!”
Aguero has gone on to score 244 goals in 353 appearances for Manchester City.
