The last time Chelsea made the trip to the Etihad Stadium, the Blues returned with a 6-0 defeat against a rampaging Manchester City side.
Club football will resume this weekend, and the Blues will face another trip to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
Last season, it was Maurizio Sarri who took Chelsea to the Etihad, but this time around Frank Lampard is in charge of the Blues.
There’s a different context to this weekend’s clash, as Chelsea are in good form heading to the game, and while the Blues are third in the league, Manchester City are 4th.
BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has tipped Manchester City to win this game but he doesn’t expect last season’s embarrassing defeat to happen again.
“Chelsea have won their past six Premier League games and are obviously going extremely well,” Lawrenson writes in his column for the BBC.
“But I would always back Manchester City when they are at home against another big club. They often seem to find an extra gear in them, and they very rarely lose them.
“There won’t be a repeat of the scoreline from last season, when City won 6-0, but I am still expecting Pep Guardiola’s side to win.”
