Gianluca Rocchi is the centre referee that officiated the Champions League tie between Chelsea and Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, and the Italian gave Chelsea two penalties as well as two red cards to the Dutch side.

Ajax were leading the game 4-1, but the Blues eventually clawed their way back into the tie and snatched a massive point at the Bridge.

Former Chelsea winger Bolo Zenden has revealed that everyone in Holland is talking about the poor performance of the referee and the Dutchman revealed that his country people are saying that Ajax were cheated.

“In Holland, where most the people are for Ajax, they’re all complaining about the referee and that Chelsea were given an opportunity to come back into the game.” Zenden told talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

“In all fairness, Chelsea did well after Ajax went down by two men.

“But if Blind is on a yellow card why take the risk of getting a second yellow? The second yellow for Veltman is a bit harsh; you are already getting a penalty so why also send him off. That was a bit harsh.

“But other than that, Chelsea fought their way back into the game.”
