Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount walked off injured during Chelsea’s 4-4 draw against Ajax on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder was withdrawn in the 60th minute against Ajax with an ankle injury as he couldn’t continue the game.

The 20-year-old midfielder is now in contention for this weekend’s Premier League clash when Chelsea play host to Crystal Palace, and he has given Frank Lampard an injury boost.

It was believed that Mount won’t be available for this weekend’s clash, but he resumed training on Thursday and will now undergo a fitness test on Friday to determine whether he will be available for the clash at home to Roy Hodgson’s side.

After the Ajax game, Lampard moved to ease concerns that Mount might be out for long after suggesting the midfielder’s injury is minor.

“They’ve strapped his ankle and hopefully it’s relatively minor,” Lampard said.

Mount has played in every Premier League game this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Mount has also been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad ahead of England’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo later this month.
