Real Madrid weren’t the only club that were linked with former Chelsea star Eden Hazard. French giants Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in the Belgium international when he was a Chelsea player.
Hazard has now revealed that the French club came for him several times, but he always rejected the move as he didn’t want to face his former side Lille.
“They [PSG] often wanted to recruit me,” Hazard revealed to L’Equipe.
“I did not want to go back to Ligue 1, and not to another club other than Lille. I always told them no.
“In my head, it was clear. They are a club that could help me win the Champions League. But it was not in my plans. If I ever come back to Ligue 1, it will be with Lille.”
Ahead of this weekend’s clash against Manchester City, Hazard has backed the Blues to go on and take the three points at the Etihad Stadium.
“It is not going to be easy. It is hard to play there, the last time we played there was 6-0. Bad memories for Chelsea and me as well,” the Real Madrid winger conceded.
“But this season they are really good; really young, but really good. Why not go there and win the game?”
