When it comes to crosses, Manchester United and England legend David Beckham is hailed as one of the best that ever existed in the game.
Beckham usually whipped in lots of dangerous crosses from the right wing during his playing days, and his pinpoint crosses have been remembered by former Chelsea star Joe Cole.
Joe Cole has likened the crosses of Chelsea youngster Reece James to that of Beckham following his stunning performance in the 4-4 draw against Ajax.
James came on as a half-time substitute against the Dutch side, and the 19-year-old right-back turned the game around as he kept delivering dangerous crosses from the right flank before eventually scoring the fourth for Chelsea.
“When I was playing in America [with Tampa Bay Rowdies], I came around to train with the kids [at Chelsea],” Cole told BT Sport after the game.
“We were having shooting session and the kids’ shooting was erratic, but James was on the money, whipping crosses, it was like watching Beckham.”
Reece James helped turned the match around for Chelsea on Wednesday night as he came on for Marcos Alonso who was having a torrid night. James played on the right while Cesar Azpilicueta moved to the left side.
The 19-year-old kept troubling the right flank with his speed and dangerous crosses, and one can only wonder what the future holds for the Chelsea right-back.
