It was a mind-blowing game between Chelsea and Ajax, as both teams played out a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge. This game had everything from VAR drama to penalties, own goals, red cards and exhilarating attacking play. At the end, Chelsea came back from 4-1 to draw the game 4-4.
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho scored twice in the game from the penalty spot as Chelsea did a massive comeback, and the Italy international has revealed that it was an unbelievable game.
“It was an unbelievable game and I think everyone who watched enjoyed it,” said the Italian afterwards.
“4-1, two red cards, then 4-4, 5-4 and then VAR says no goal! It was so crazy but this is football and it was amazing for that.
“It was a good result for us in the end but we are a bit disappointed we didn’t win because we could have done, especially with two players more.”
Ajax star Dusan Tadic was frustrated with the referee and blasted his officiating after the game.
“We should be furious. The referee destroyed our game,” Tadic said on Veronica TV.
“We had everything under control. I just don’t understand why he gives two red cards in one episode. I don’t understand. I have never experienced anything like this I still have to check it, but I don’t even agree: give red twice in the same action.
“After those two red cards, it became a completely different game. We can be proud of ourselves. It was just not possible to play soccer with nine men. We had everything in our hands, were much better … We should have won tonight.”
