Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic became Chelsea’s 17th goalscorer this season after he scored Chelsea’s first goal in the 2-2 draw against Valencia on Wednesday night in Spain.
It was also his first Chelsea goal after he failed to score for the Blues last season under Maurizio Sarri despite playing 51 times.
Before his goal against Valencia, Kovacic had gone 1033 days without scoring with his last goal coming at former club Real Madrid on January 29 2017 in a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad.
Chelsea have scored 45 goals in 21 games in all competitions this season and the goals have come from 17 different players.
