Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has had to settle for a defensive partnership of Fikayo Tomori and Kurt Zouma in recent games, and the duo seems to have formed a strong partnership at the back.
The Chelsea team is beginning to click in every area, and Blues boss Frank Lampard will definitely have more thinking to do as a number of players are close to return from injury.
Chelsea have two centre-backs out due to injury, with Andreas Christensen now close to a return.
Lampard has revealed that Christensen is close to a return but Rudiger who has featured just once this season is still out.
“Andreas is nearly fit and Rudi’s got some problems so he might be a bit longer, but I need that competition,” the Chelsea manager said.
Lampard then revealed that he was pleased with what he has seen in the partnership between Zouma and Tomori.
He said: “I’m very pleased with how they’re both playing, I think they looked very composed against Watford and didn’t look bothered at all throughout the whole game.
“It’s nice they’ve been able to form a little bit of a partnership, but we need all four so when the others come back it’ll be even better for the competition.”
