Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso is facing a fight over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard was withdrawn at halftime against Ajax on Tuesday following a difficult first half and his replacement, Reece James, scored Chelsea’s equaliser against Ajax.
According to The Telegraph via Daily Mail, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is open to letting Alonso leave Stamford Bridge if the club receives a worthwhile bid for the Spanish left-back.
Emerson Palmeiri, who started ahead of Alonso against Watford, should be fit to face Crystal Palace on Saturday or Lampard could play Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back after he impressed at left-back against Ajax and hand Reece James his first Premier League start.
Chelsea are also interested in a summer move for Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, which would almost certainly see Alonso leave the club.
