Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed his team is improving in the defensive phase following the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Only 8 teams in the Premier League have conceded more goals than Chelsea this season and it is believed Chelsea could have been challenging Liverpool for the title if we had been solid at the back while maintaining our attacking football.
Following the victory over Crystal Palace, Owen Hargreaves on the BT punditry team asked Lampard about the goals the Blues have been conceding this season.
Lampard admitted the Blues still need to improve defensively and also in attack (despite being one of the highest scoring sides in the league).
According to Lampard, Chelsea still need to be more clinical in front of goal and also improve at the back.
Lampard revealed Chelsea aren’t conceding too many chances but said the problem is Chelsea tend to concede a goal from most chances we concede.
However, Lampard admitted Chelsea are getting better defensively and he believes the clean sheet against Crystal Palace helps but he insists despite the improvements at back, he would still continue to make Chelsea very solid at the back.
