Frank Lampard has given an injury update on his team ahead of Wednesday night’s clash against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium.
The Chelsea boss has revealed that two Chelsea players Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger didn’t travel with the team to Spain for the Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
However, Lampard has given positive update about the duo as he confirmed that the teenager is recovering well from the hamstring injury he sustained on international duty while Rudiger is back to training ahead of a return to the first team.
Lampard told the media: “Callum Hudson-Odoi is not available. He has been getting better through the week so hopefully he will be for the weekend.
“Toni Rudiger thankfully now we’re talking match fitness as opposed to the injury itself. He is training hard and it will be more days and weeks as opposed to months as it has been.”
Hudson-Odoi has a chance of being fit for the weekend game against West Ham, while Chelsea fans will be pleased with the return to training of Rudiger as the Chelsea defence has been crying out for a leader in the backline.
