Chelsea are reportedly interested in a January move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Blues will reportedly make a move for the 23 year old striker if the transfer ban on the club is lifted.
Despite scoring 13 goals in 16 games for RB Leipzig this season, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been warned against signing Werner.
According to Darren Bent, the signing of Werner would upset Blues striker Tammy Abraham.
Abraham has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season, with only Jamie Vardy having scored more.
“Don’t go and get a centre-forward for £60m because that’s going to upset Tammy and that applecart and I don’t like to see that happen because Tammy’s going really, really well at the minute,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“He’s comfortable in what he’s doing, he’s playing really, really well.
“He’s got a bit of pressure on him because obviously [Frank] Lampard’s made him the main man and you don’t need to go and sign someone like Werner.”
Bent added: “I remember being at Sunderland, scoring 25 goals, then the following season they bring in Asamoah Gyan and it just kind of unsettled me a little bit because I’m like ‘Well, things are going really well here, I’m doing really well, so why do you feel the need to sign someone else, who arguably in that World Cup was one of the best players?’.
“He was brilliant for Ghana and it kind of upset me a little bit.
“So I think in that situation you need to leave it as it is, let that play out, and if you are going to bring in players in other areas, be like squad-type players where if you do get injuries, they can come straight back in.”
