Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu was sent on loan to German side RB Leipzig to further his development, and so far, his loan spell isn’t going as planned.

The highly-rated teenager is well rated by the club and also his country, but he isn’t getting playing opportunities at his loan club.

The 19-year-old has been subjected to 48 minutes of Bundesliga football, and there have been claims that Chelsea might cut short his loan deal and bring him back to the club in the January transfer window.

However, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has ruled out an early return for Ampadu, and insists that the Chelsea loanee still has a lot to offer the club.

“A return ahead of time is not an option,” he told German daily Bild.

“Julian Nagelsmann will develop Ethan in training in such a way that he will be used in this long season.”
