French pundit Pierre Menes has admitted Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud surprised him with his performance in France’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Albania and Moldova.
Despite rarely playing for Chelsea this season, Giroud has remained an important player for France.
Menes posted to social media, according to Tribal Football: “Giroud surprised me in these two games, I found him dangerous, he missed success in Albania, he was decisive against Moldova. I too would like to see other players.
“I imagine that if Lacazette had as many caps as him, he would have scored as many goals as him, but here the facts are there and the goals are there. Now what is obvious, is that the current situation cannot last, and if Giroud does not change clubs in January, it will be very difficult to select him for the Euros.
“But I think he will change clubs.”
