John Mikel Obi spent 11 years at Chelsea, and the former Nigeria International played over 300 games for the Blues.

Despite amassing over 300 Chelsea appearances and featuring in so many huge matches that saw Chelsea take all three points, the former Chelsea midfielder didn’t waste time to point to the Champions League final against Bayern Munich as his best ever performance in a Blue jersey.

The Trabzonspor midfielder told beIN Sports in Turkey: “My most memorable match is the Champions League final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

“I gave the best performance of my life in the Champions League final.”

The 2012 Champions League final will indeed go down as the most difficult game Chelsea have gone on to win as the Blues were pinned in their own half for most parts of the game by the Bavarians, and the German side had taken the lead via Thomas Muller. Extraordinarily, Didier Drogba scored Chelsea’s first real chance of the game from a Juan Mata corner to send the game into extra time, with Chelsea triumphing on penalty shootout.

The game against Bayern Munich saw Mikel put in a great defensive shift, and he still remembers that match till date.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
