Chelsea might be having a swell time in the Premier League and winning games for fun as well as playing beautiful football, but it’s only one Chelsea player who made it into Alan Shearer’s team of the season so far. No player from Arsenal and Manchester United made the cut.
Shearer has selected four players from Liverpool, three from Leicester City, two from Sheffield United and one from Man City.
In goal, Shearer went for Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson who has been very impressive this season. The Blades sit fifth in the Premier League – above both Arsenal and Man United – and have conceded just nine goals, bettered only by the Foxes.
A back four of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in the fullback positions, with Caglar Soyuncu of Leicester City and John Egan of Sheffield United as centre-back partners.
Liverpool’s Fabinho takes the defensive midfield position and a trio of Sadio Mane (Liverpool), James Maddison (Leicester City) and Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) are ahead of him.
There are two strikers up front with Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.
Only Tammy Abraham made the cut for Chelsea, and there was no room for the likes of Jorginho and Willian who have been having a wonderful season.
