Pep Guardiola will be facing his third Chelsea manager in three years as the Blues visit Etihad Stadium for a cracking clash on Saturday evening.
Guardiola’s side head to the game following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in their last Premier League encounter at Anfield.
City are currently fourth in the league, while Chelsea are third and this game is a huge tie for both sides.
Chelsea are in great form, and Guardiola has credited the work that has been done by the new Chelsea manager.
“Chelsea for many years have been an incredibly top team,” Guardiola was quoted by Man City’s official website as saying at his pre-match press conference.
“From the beginning, Lampard team have played really well.
“He is consistent in his ideas; the results are there. I’m happy for him.
“I don’t know him very well but a little bit and I have good info about him here. He is an excellent person and playing the way they play is perfect for English football.
“I would say that when you know the Club, it’s a good advantage. Frank Lampard knows Chelsea perfectly – the fans, media, the players…
“You must be clear in what you want to do and at the big Clubs, you have top players.”
