Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been named as the Premier League manager of the month for the month of October, after an excellent run in October.
It was a flawless month in the Premier League for Chelsea as the Blues started the month of October with a 4-1 win at Southampton, a game in which Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi all scored.
Our next game in October was a home game against Newcastle United which Chelsea won 1-0 thanks to a Marcos Alonso’s strike midway through the second half.
Our final game in the month of October was against Burnley. A Christian Pulisic hat-trick and a goal from Willian helped secure a 4-2 victory.
Lampard is the deserved winner of the award as he joins the likes of current England boss Gareth Southgate and one of his former team-mates at West Ham, Stuart Pearce, in having won both the Premier League Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards.
Speaking about the award, Lampard said: “I won’t get excited, because these awards are also very nice as they keep you grounded.
“You realise the hard work put in to do that because of the competition from teams like Leicester with Brendan Rodgers performing so well, and others as well.
“All the nominees are very worthy in their own ways so I appreciate that. It also makes you realise that to get these things again or regularly, we have to all keep working to improve.”
